Where is Flatheim located, and how do you get there?
Flatheim is located in Viksdalen, halfway between Balestrand and Førde and surrounded by the fjords Sognefjorden, Dalsfjorden and Førdefjorden. It sits along the National Tourist Route Gaularfjellet. You can get here by car, motorcycle or bicycle. The area offers magnificent views of mountains, rivers, waterfalls and lakes. Flatheim is easily accessible for travelers crossing Gaularfjellet on Route 613.
It is also easy to get here by express boat from Bergen to Balestrand, and from there take a taxi, rent a car, or arrange transport with the hosts at Flatheim.

Is Flatheim open all year?
Flatheim is located along the National Tourist Route Gaularfjellet, Route 613, which is an extension of Highway 14. The hotel is open all year. Gaularfjellet Road is usually closed from mid-December until May 1st; during this period Flatheim can only be reached from the Sunnfjord side.
Flatheim also welcomes groups for corporate gatherings, friend trips and family celebrations. During winter you can often experience snow, and the area offers good conditions for skiing and winter activities.
